Nice, as always, although I don't know where you get the energy or the imagination to keep popping these out with (apparently) the greatest of ease. You are my tribble...thank you

Thank you very much indeed.

I have to confess I wasn't sure I was going to get a story for this particular challenge - none of the signs really 'spoke' to me. That one was the only one that even whispered. I'd thought at first something to do with Ducky and Jimmy in the MEs van and coming across a confusing sign. Then I decided that was going to end up way over the 1,000 words limit. So that went on the back burner and finally this idea started to percolate - talk about 'under the wire' to get it in.

I'm quite happy to be a tribble, I think they are so lovely. Thank you.

Se? I need you to rub off on me. I've got stuff to do and can't quite seem to get off my 'you know' today and do it. A kind and generous soul offered to type in all my old material so that I could 'refresh' it prior to printing. Now I'm either over or underwhelmed - not quite sure which. And then I read this, along with the craziness you had with your visitors and everything.

And tribbles are prolific and pure love, according to Uhura. What's not to like?

I have days like that too. I know that feeling.

*Smiles*

Sorry, don't believe it for a minute - you're just trying to make me feel better. My problem is that I hve three stories in progress at the moment and can't seem to find the interest to work on any of them at the moment. I keep wanderin gover here or getting into long debates on other sites...bad, writer, bad! Must work stories...sigh.

Actually saw a NCIS last night I hadn't seen before - "Untouchables" - OMG, Mrs. Mallard, what a hoot she must have been as a younger woman. poor Ducky - talk about racking up major hit points. I've got to watch it again today off the DVD - don't know how I missed that one. I adore that character. Hmm, I'm sensing the tickling of a story coming on...excuse me...

No, I'm not, honestly. I do have days like that - and they tend to come when things are quiet (like this weekend with your country and mine both having 'holiday' weekends). I should settle down and really write or catch up on emails, etc. but I tend to drift along. I don't get them often, but I do. Really. Truly.

Oh, yes. That was a hoot. The day after on the G/D comm we were all saying the same thing that we felt a tad guilty because we laughed so much and it's a laughing matter. OTOH she was clearly quite happy and not troubled by her lack of memories, so that countered the 'guilt'. I think the writers wrote her very well there. You could laugh at her whilst not being consumed with guilt. Yes, poor Ducky. And poor Jimmy when he lost her and her flirting with Jethro. It's such a shame we only saw her twice; I'd have loved to have seen her again.

And she's an example of my 'mini rant' about the writers not being consistent. Her name in TMP was Vanessa that then became Victoria *bangs head on desk* I stuck with the former as I'd written her by name before 'The Untouchables'.

I think Victoria is the better name for her, but I would stand by Vanessa if that's the first one - now, that's just sloppy writing though on their part.

"Don't worry about it, Mr. Palmer, I lose her all the time." Poor old bird, he really is playing the role of a good son with his care of her. most folks here would just have tossed her into a nursing home and washed their hands of her - that's how it's 'done' here. I really must think of some sort of story for her; she's so delightful. I'm just sorry she wasn't used more often in the series.

Oh, you mean her flirting with Matthew...who never did bring her that drink...and Abby, asking her if she'd slept with Ducky because she was getting tired of waiting for grandchildren. And that crack, "He's not getting any younger, you know." heh, heh, heh...the look those two exchange.

See,my writing problem is that I'm polishing on a death fic (well, sort of, there's a 'crazed lunatic' on the loose and trying to keep Napoleon and Illya one step ahead of him hasn't been easy) and the NCIS/MFU cross (balls in her court, so I can't writing on it now) and another in the planning stages, but nothing I WANT to work on. Usually when this happens, I fall back to doing housework. After an hour of scrubbing toilets, etc. I'm really ready to hit the keyboard again. This hasn't worked yet and i'm running out of chores...sigh.

Calgone bath oil beads, take me away!

Well quite! And it's not a one off. I think Vanessa fits better, but then that's probably because that's how I've always written her.

I know. Bless him. He certainly is - an amazing son. And as we know money isn't an issue, so it's not for that reason he keeps her at home as long as he could. She was wonderful. It was sad. And I kept wondering during the last season when they were going to mention her death, given the actress died early in the year.

*Chuckles* Indeed. He didn't, bad Matthew *g* Poor Ducky. I loved Abby's face during that.

Ah, death fics . . . I know them well. Indeed you can't. Ahhh. Hey, at least the house is clean.

*Sends good writing vibes your way*

Beleive it or not - the story got finished and is off to my Beta. The MFU/NCIS cross is likewise finished and away. My plate is (sort of) clean, just in time for a nice fluffy story of something...oh, I dunno...

There is a certain slashiness to some of Mrs. Mallard's comment - going on about Ducky's long blond curls and her obvious disapointment when his voice broke at 12. David did indeed have beautiful long blond curly hair as a child. I had a friend years ago, that was his next door neighbor as a child. She sent me some great shots of them playing together and of his mom, David and his brother. So, the writer got that one right, at least, even if he (they) did mess up on the names.

Poor Mrs. Mallard never did get her grandchild though...:)

Yay for finishing! Fluff is good. *Nods*

There certainly are *g* How wonderful. I bet he was so gorgeous. Well they do get some things right *g*

I know. Poor lady.
