Fiction. Very Different Women (Jenny/Ziva)
TITLE: Very Different Women
AUTHOR: Ashleigh Anpilova
PAIRING: Jennifer Shepard/Ziva David
GENRE: Slash. First Time
SUMMARY: Jenny and Ziva come from different worlds, but they can still connect.
AUTHOR'S NOTE: Written for ncis_shared Thing-A-Thon IV for the prompt 'Jenny/Ziva - Cairo'.
DISCLAIMER: I don't own these characters, nor am I making any money from them. I merely borrow them from time to time.

It was in Cairo where they first met one another.

Their eyes met across the room and instantly an attraction flared between them.

Moving as if under a spell they both left the people they were with and made their way towards one another.

"Jennifer Shepard."

"Ziva David."

"I am very pleased to meet you, Ziva."

"As am I, Jenny."

Their differences were apparent:

Jenny was American. Ziva Israeli.

Jenny was older in years. Ziva in knowledge and experience.

Jenny had been taught to kill if she had to, but to try to ask questions first. Ziva had been taught to kill first and ask questions later.

Jenny had never experienced sex or romance with a woman before. Ziva had known men and women from the age of sixteen.

Jenny trusted people. Ziva trusted her instincts.

They were very different women.

All they really had in common was their gender.

They should shake hands and walk away.

But they didn't.

Instead they left together and found themselves in Jenny's room.

There Ziva taught her about making love to a woman; there Ziva taught her about loving another woman; there Ziva taught her about loving herself.

When the sun rose the next morning neither woman had slept.

Later that day Ziva showed how good she was, how she could spend a night making love, spend a night without sleep and not lose any of her skills.

Later that day Ziva proved her experience and knowledge was vaster than Jenny's, despite the difference in ages.

Later that day Ziva proved that killing first and asking questions later was sometimes, at least, a good idea.

Later that day Ziva saved Jenny's life.

That evening again they lay together in a bed, in a different room, in a different hotel, one that Ziva had arranged, one that Ziva had checked thoroughly before locking and securing the door. Then she'd taken Jenny by the hand, gently and tenderly cleaned the blood from her cheek and starting with a long, hot shower had spent hours once more showing Jenny what love was like.

As she was about to fall asleep in Ziva's arms, Jenny remembered an old saying 'if you save someone's life, you are responsible for that person for the rest of their life'. She rather liked the sound of that.

Oooo more Jenny/Ziva I see.

And nice Nikki fic.

I like seeing the beginnings this time.

As always short sentences used to great effect.

I know. Strange really, but there you go.

Thank you very much. I'm glad yo enjoyed it.

It was a good prompt and just spurred this idea.

Thank you - I'm glad you think so.

Thank you for reading.

Yes those wings of yours keep spreading.

I did. I can see Jenny/Ziva (but then with NCIS I can see everything but G/Di ;-) also I learnt today that some squish DiNozzo/McGee as McNozzo which sent me into fits of giggles).

Oh yes and good use of the prompt.

They do :-) But I think they've reached their full span, by now. I can't foresee me adding any other pairings to my repertoire.

I've always seen J/Z, I just never cared enough to write them before. Is there is always that. Ahhh. Yes . . .

Thank you - I'm glad you thought so.
aingeal8c From: aingeal8c Date: 25th September 2008 17:24 (UTC) (Link)
Oh I think that you have a nice collection there. I can't seee you adding more.

Oh indeed. What made you write them do you think? Hee.

I did indeed.

nakeisha From: nakeisha Date: 26th September 2008 12:08 (UTC) (Link)
Why, thank you. And no, I can't. Well I do have two ideas for G/Mc stories BUT before you fall off your chair they are G/D stories actually and both have a darn good reason for it happening (the first is the famous 'f*** or die' plot the second, well it's a death story. And that came about when I did one of the fandom memes a few months ago and had to think up a plot for McGee topping Gibbs - I did. And it's haunted me ever since!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hmm. Well I really started to like Ziva and then when I took up the 50ficlets challenge for 'NCIS General Series' it just kind of happened.

Good. I'm glad.

YW. *hnags very tightly onto chair* I am not falling off the chair oh no. I am still here yes. That actually make sense. Not that I thought they wouldn;t. I mean Nikki-fic always makes sense but yes those two scenarios and you thinking about them makes sense.

See now I have confused myself.

Hee so much of fanfiction works that way it seems.

(not that I can tlak having erm signed up to write Victoria/Frannie for RoK...)

Oh yes.
nakeisha From: nakeisha Date: 26th September 2008 16:57 (UTC) (Link)
I'm glad you managed to hang on to the chair and are still there. And that you think they make sense. Awww, thank you - I'm so glad to hear that.

Indeed. Very much so.

*Cocks eyebrows* Oooooo. Interesting.
aingeal8c From: aingeal8c Date: 26th September 2008 17:09 (UTC) (Link)
I am yes. Phew! You are very welcome.

Oh yes.

That's one word for it...
nakeisha From: nakeisha Date: 27th September 2008 11:34 (UTC) (Link)

I'm sure it will be very good - you're writing it.
aingeal8c From: aingeal8c Date: 27th September 2008 12:08 (UTC) (Link)
Awww shucks. We shall see...Oddly the sex part I know I can do it;s the...conceit of having them together I am slightly more worried about.
nakeisha From: nakeisha Date: 27th September 2008 15:08 (UTC) (Link)
Now that makes perfect sense to me, actually.
aingeal8c From: aingeal8c Date: 27th September 2008 16:35 (UTC) (Link)
Oh I am glad. I have some rough ideas. I will feed the bunnies and se where they lead.

Ooo shiny! Thank you.

I like your Jenny.

(Okay...I still think Ducky doesn't)

I love your Ziva.

nakeisha From: nakeisha Date: 25th September 2008 13:00 (UTC) (Link)
I'm glad you like my Jenny - it's strange how she grew on me enough to allow me to write her like this.

Hmmmm. *Smiles* You and me both.

Thank you - Ziva really grew on me so much, I enjoy writing her.

Thank you for reading.
birggitt From: birggitt Date: 26th September 2008 12:32 (UTC) (Link)
So, here you have me, reading femmeslash...again. You, lady, had ruined me *headdesk*
But then, I'm not regretful, because I like this. I liked to see how they become lovers, how, sometimes, no matter how different people are, because there is that spark, that instant of recognition which set all differences aside.
Very well done, my friend!
nakeisha From: nakeisha Date: 26th September 2008 15:45 (UTC) (Link)
*Chuckles* Well I'm still a tad bemused by me writing it!

Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. (Tries hard to look repentive and innocent).

Thank you very much, my friend. I am really pleased to hear you enjoyed this - when the prompt appeared on the list it seemed the perfect time to do a J/Z FT story.

Thank you.

*Wanders off pondering the number of pairings I now write/have written in NCIS*

Wow, I am later than late to this little gem. I actually stumbled upon the follow up drabble first, and if I had missed this I would be pissed.

This was just beautiful. I love your portrayal of Jenny. She's a difficult character for fic, I think but you nailed her (no pun intended) completely. I also never got so attached to the notion or rather, the canon relationship that was her and Gibbs at one point, and was more about the ladies for her, and particularly Ziva. Both were written so well here, I really enjoyed this.

Thank you.
nakeisha From: nakeisha Date: 30th December 2009 11:25 (UTC) (Link)
Thank you so very much indeed for you lovely comment.

I'm really pleased to hear how much you enjoyed this story. And I'm really chuffed you thought I'd nailed Jenny's character so well.

I really did think at more than one point during S3 that DPB was going to give us Jenny/Ziva as canon, as it was so clear.

Thank you so much again.
