Favourite songs
Tagged by londonronnie

List your current six favorite songs, then pick six other people that have to do the same.

Bridge Over Troubled Water - Simon & Garfunkel
Total Eclipse Of The Heart - Bonnie Tyler
Making Love Out Of Nothing At All - Air Supply
It's All Coming Back To Me Now - Celine Dion
Full Of Grace - Sarah McLachlan
Take It On The Run - REO Speedwagon

And the six I'm tagging (being good here and not duplicating some of the people londonronnie tagged):

Current Mood: cheerful cheerful

Okay, I'm playing half this game. *g* I'm not putting this in my own lj, and I'm not tagging anybody else. But since you asked:

Special Thanks – Glay
Winter, again – Glay
Curtain Call – Glay
However – Glay
(Pattern? What pattern? And whaddaya mean, 'sad'?)
Last Song – Gackt
Yakusoku – Suwabe Junichi

I'm interpreting 'current favourite' to mean 'the stuff I have set on repeat on the mp3 player'. I have some 'eternal favourites', and the Bonnie Tyler song you mention is definitely among those. The long version.

And in fact, I like all the ones you list. :-)

I'm glad to see that you played half of it - thank you!

Interestingly *I* interpreted it to mean 'favourite/favourites' (eternal to use your word). But in my case, it'd be the same thing (sad life I lead).

Who or what is Glay?

I did know that you too enjoyed some on my list :-)

See, it's the 'current' that confused me. *g*

Listing six eternal favourites is much harder, since I have way more than that. So... hm, trying here, but as soon as I send this I'll probably want to kill myself for leaving out a very special song I couldn't ever live without.

Special Thanks - Glay (I haven't known this for long, but right now I feel like I can listen to it forever and ever and ever)

However - Glay (not many songs that can cheer me up when I'm in a bad mood, so this one has to stay, too).

Sanctus (Missa Papae Marcelli) - Palestrina (so beautiful it takes your breath away)

'Ic Iain 'ic Sheumais - Runrig (hypnotic, has stopped me from strangling people more than once; and knowing the background also helps)

Backstreets - Springsteen (drama)

Total Eclipse of the Heart - Bonnie Tyler

Glay are a Japanese band, were big in the late 90s and are still pretty famous. The songs are in Japanese, despite the English titles. I'll YouSendIt a couple to you - but feel free to ignore if you want.

I'm sure your reading if it was much more logical than mine :-) I just don't have any 'current' favourites, not 'current' as in 'around today', so these are ones that I would currently call my all time favourites (see, I can justify just about everything if I try hard enough *g*)

Thanks for the info. on Glay (and for you new list). I have the YouSendIts and shall indeed not ignore them. Am off to talk to the potatoes that are baking, but shall 'play' later.

I have now listened to them. They have a super sound, and the singer has a wonderful voice - I'd love it even more if it were in English and I could understand it :-) It sounds hauntingly moving as it is, very nice. In fact, I guess it might lose some of it's beauty if it were in English.

Thanks for sending them.

Favourite songs.

Seems we have more in common then just Pros. REO Speedwagon, Air Supply, Simon and Garfunkel.

Why is it that we chose all these 'old' ones?

Re: Favourite songs.

I've just said something similar on your LJ :-) Great minds at work.

Why do we like the 'old' ones, er, because they made sense? Because you could hear the words/understand the tune? Because they seemed to care? Because they could sing? All of these work for me.

Re: Favourite songs.

So did I! Gets better all the time!

Perhaps because it was real music? I don't associate many things with music anymore nowadays.

Re: Favourite songs.

Ah, now this says it all - perfectly. It was indeed real music.

Ooh I love Air Supply, and that song in particular!! And Bonnie Tyler too :-)

It's interesting how many of us fans like the same songs - I'm sure there must be a 'paper' in that somewhere :-)
