Yet more internet woes
For those of you who were expecting to hear from me yesterday, via replies to comments, I apologise.

One second LJ was there the next . . . It wasn't.

And it still wasn't there by the time I logged off for the day.

It seems that this time it wasn't my ISP, certainly from their response from my support ticket it wasn't a known or even to-be-found problem, but I know that LJ was certainly up and running, as other friends told me so. Having said, I guess it could have been a particular cluster did anyone else have problems/know of problems yesterday from about 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. (when I turned my computers off) UK time?

Today it's here (at the moment) but it is incredibly slow - which is odd.

So if I suddenly vanish again, you'll know why.

I wasn't on LJ during that time yesterday so I am afraid I am of little help.

However it's not particularly slow for me today.

But then we are on different clusters aren't we?

I'd open a request with LJ support, just in case.

Looking at the service status page these days tells me nothing it's always listed has having no problems even when it has. It's rubbish.

The timing wasn't great, as I did wonder if it was a British thing, but you weren't around to ask :-( Darn work.

And now guess what??? Just after I'd responded to my ISPs comment the whole thing speeded back up again. It'd been slower than slow (but only on LJ) for a couple of hours and now . . . Typical, eh?

I might well do that.

I know what you mean, I can't make head nor tail either!

Yesa sorry baout that. Things conspired against us.

That is indeed typical. Well I'm glad it's speeded up. Here's hoping it's okay for the future.

Might be worth seeing if it's going to happen again, if there's some on goign fault.

It's crazy isn't it?
nakeisha From: nakeisha Date: 2nd October 2007 11:42 (UTC) (Link)
Ah, it wasn't your fault - you have to work.

Oh, yes. Thank you. And I'm hoping too.

Indeed. And it seems as if it might have been a Brit and/or cluster thing as another one of my Brit friends was without LJ too.

Oh, yes.
aingeal8c From: aingeal8c Date: 2nd October 2007 12:08 (UTC) (Link)
Ah that is true.

Fingers crossed as usudal.

Well at least that's something. Here's hoping it doesn't happen again.

:-)

:-)

Thank you.

Indeed. And I do hope so. It's very stressful not being able to get on *blush*

I was without LJ for a while yesterday as well - not sure of the timings exactly but I'd say pretty much the same as you. I guessed that it was a problem with LJ as the internet was working fine for me otherwise.

Haven't noticed any particular problems today, it doesn't seem to be running any slower than usual.
nakeisha From: nakeisha Date: 2nd October 2007 11:14 (UTC) (Link)
Oh, don't take this the wrong way, but I'm so pleased to hear this.

It sounds as it might then possibly have been a British thing or a cluster thing.

And now all is fine again - speed-wise, it's back to 'normal'. After two hours of 'watching paint dry' suddenly in a blink of an eye it speeded up. So fingers crossed.

Thanks.

No, that's ok!

I know exactly what you mean - it's always a relief to know that it's not 'just you', isn't it? *g*
nakeisha From: nakeisha Date: 2nd October 2007 12:48 (UTC) (Link)
Indeed.

I'm glad you understand.

Paranoid, moi??? Oh, yes :-)
