Wimbledon 2015 Day 09

Yesterday really was a busy day in fact the last men's fourth round match wasn't concluded. Thus, Novak Djokovic and Kevin Anderson have to take to the court today at 1:00 p.m. for what is basically a one-set shoot out when their match was stopped just shy of 9:00 p.m. due to bad light just after Novak had come back from two sets to love down to make it two sets all.

There were a few upsets yesterday with seeds going out either to unseeded players or to players seeded much lower than them - including one of my favourites - Caroline Wozniacki. The biggest upset on the men's side was Tomas Berdych crashing out in straight sets.

My predictions weren't bad. I successfully called six our of eight for the ladies and five out of seven (not counting the above-mentioned to be concluded match) men's matches.

Roger and Stan got through comfortably, Andy took three sets and we'll know later if Novak will keep the four top male seeds in the tournament. Andy's brother (Jamie) also won in his men's doubles match to keep a British hope in the doubles; he plays his quarter finals today. So basically the Murray brothers are the only Brits left in the tournament (boys and girls aside).

Today is ladies' quarter finals day, so not the greatest day as far as I'm concerned, but I shall still be watching and there could hopefully be some good matches.

My predictions for the quarter finals:

Maria Sharapova vs. Coco Vandeweghe - Marie Sharapova

Serena Williams vs. Victoria Azarenka - Serena Williams (although I would love Vika to win and this could be a really close match)

Garbine Muguruza vs. Timea Bacsinszky - Garbine Muguruza (I don't know either player, but as Garbine was the person to put out Caro, I'll go for her)

Madison Keys vs. Agnieszka Radwanska - Agnieszka Radwanska (this is the match I care most about as Aga is my favourite player left so I really hope she wins)

Plus, of course we have the match between Djokovic and Anderson to finish - which will be played out before the two ladies' matches on Court one. The result will see if I'm six or five out of either based on my predictions from yesterday.
