I have (finally) completed another Fanfic Challenge -
mission_insane for NCIS General Series.
NCIS General Series Mission Insane Master Table.
This took me longer than I had anticipated and in the end became more of a chore than a pleasure and I was bored with it *sighs*
However, once I start something I finish it and I was determined to finish this. At the end of April I had ten stories to write and I told both
caffyolay and
doylebaby that I had set myself the goal of finishing by the end of June. However, the prompts for the current
older_not_dead challenge inspired me so much that I actually wrote ten NCIS stories during the first eighteen days of May.
I'm jolly glad to have got this out of the way, I really am. Two hundred stories is a lot (even for me *g*) and it wasn't helped by the fact that the promised encouragement of a 'yay' and banner after you'd completed each table failed to materialise. It wasn't the banner so much as the 'well done, good luck with the rest' type of thing. I've never really thought I needed that before, but when something is promised and doesn't happen . . . Well . . .
But I did it and that's all that matters, isn't it? And I'm jolly chuffed to have it out of the way. Does this mean I'll stop writing NCIS? I don't think so; I hope not as even though I no longer love the show I still like writing the characters, but any other challenge I take up will be shorter ones (and almost certainly my own as I know they won't vanish).
