Day #25 - Favourite DiNozzo episode or moment

I'm not a huge Tony fan, I like him a lot, but he's not a favourite character of mine. Thus, for the most part I tend not to rate Tony episodes that highly and don't really have a favourite. So I'm going to go with a moment and there are a few I can choose from - in fact choosing a moment was hard going.

In the end I'm going for something really simple.

It is in 'Bounce'  (Season 6) when Tony took full responsibility for the screw-up of sending an innocent man to prison and not doing a proper job on the case, of instead thinking it was an open and closed one. He didn't try to wriggle out of it, he didn't try to put any blame on Tim, Ziva or Michelle Lee or the dog-walker or the caretaker or anyone else. No, he did what a good boss, a real boss, a responsible boss does: he took the blame. He was the team leader; he was in charge; thus it was fully his fault and responsibility.

We've seen Gibbs do the same more than once, but in the past Tony has usually tried to share the blame - which is fine because on those occasions he wasn't the boss-boss. In the moment, he did totally the right thing and it was the first time in the entire show that I really believed Tony had it in him to lead a team.

So it's full kudos to Tony for doing that. He could so easily have tried the 'oh, but it wasn't just me', but he didn't. He showed his full maturity and he showed his team leading abilities because he shouldered the full blame. I think that was perfect.

That was my favourite Tony moment.
