Thirty Days NCIS Meme. Day #08 - Your Favourite Villain

I saw this quite some time ago on dinozzoitis's journal and finally got around to doing it.

Day 08 – Favourite villain

This wasn't overly easy, as it's a rare villain that actually appeals to me enough to stand out and be remembered. There have been a few I felt sorry for and understood their motivation, even if I didn't agree with what they'd done. But overall, for me it was a tough question.

However, in the end I went for:

Michelle Lee.

Why? Well, when Vance asks Gibbs if Michelle was 'hero or villain', Gibbs replies 'both'. And I think that sums her up so very well. She was indeed both.

She killed, she set people up, she lied, she betrayed but in the end she stayed true to what she was: an NCIS agent and gave her life, indeed made Gibbs take her life, in order to save lives. And she did have a reason, not a monetary one, for doing what she did.

Yes, she should have gone to Gibbs, told him what had happened, he'd have helped her, but she was afraid. She's not the first person to do such a thing and she won't be the last.

I'm not saying her death, her sacrifice, made up for what she'd done, but it was something. Nor am I justifying her reasons for what she did, I can understand her to an extent - but she was wrong to do what she did. She was a villain.
