Faking It - Review
One other thing, apart from the whole Gibbs/Ducky relationship about which I spoke last week, and why Ducky is being like he is,* struck me.
Basically because he knows Gibbs isn't back, and he is doing his best to shock him and shake him up and get Gibbs back as Gibbs, not the pseudo-Gibbs we have had for four weeks, because Ducky is afraid that if Gibbs doesn't come back soon, he'll be lost for good.
And only Ducky can hurt him, shake him and shock him, because only Ducky is close enough to him (and that applies whether you see slash or not), and yes, Gibbs has hurt Ducky, he's hurt him a great deal. However, as I've said in my various reviews, on ncis_gibbsducky, it's more than an abandoned lover/friend, far more.
It's to do with pairings.
I was chatting earlier today with maubast and londonronnie, and we were saying that we had no idea where DPB stood on fandom in general, and fanfic in particular (we were discussing the whole Sponsored Communities issue).
The subject of pairings came up and I realised that in four episodes we have had some interesting 'evidence' for want of a better word.
Now I am not saying for one second that DPB is aware of fandom and fanfic, and is deliberately setting out in an attempt to appease everyone, but in the first four episodes we have had, to a greater or lesser, overtly or covertly, hints or more of all of the following pairings.
Haven't we been busy :-)
