MUSIC
I love music and have it on first thing, pretty much all the time during the day when I'm on my own and when I go to bed. I like to have something on in the background, even if I'm not necessarily consciously listening to each song or piece of music. I miss it if it's not there as it helps add to my level of contentedness.
As with my reading tastes, my taste in music is pretty eclectic. I like classical music, opera (I admit I prefer lighter operas to really heavy ones), country & western, pop from the '60s, 70s & 80s, folk, easy listening, music from musicals and films. I confess I'm not up on modern music and have no idea what garage music and several other types are. However, basically as long as the song or piece of music in effect 'tells a story' and carries a good tune, makes sense and doesn't split my head open I like it.
For the most part I listen to the music on my various iPod play lists, but first thing in the morning and on Saturday and Sunday afternoons I listen to Classic FM. I can easily write to continuous music, but find it harder to write to a radio show where the presenter chats between pieces, hence one of the reasons why I listen to my iPod more than the radio.
I really would hate to be without music.
