2. I will give you a letter.
3. Post the names of five fictional characters whose names begin with that letter, and your thoughts on each. The characters can be from books, movies, or TV shows.
I decided to play again and aries11 gave me 'J'. When Kris first gave me this letter I had a mild moment of *meep* as I could only think of one character. Later on it became a case of choosing five out of the multitude I could think of. I could very nearly have done it for NCIS alone - but in the end could only think of four characters. Knowing me once I post this I'll think of a fifth *wry grin*
Leroy Jethro Gibbs
My equal favourite NCIS character and one half of my favourite pairing. Gibbs is . . . Gibbs - which pretty much sums him up, actually. I love Gibbs, I love his character and he's more than easy on the eye - in fact he's downright sexy (yes, I can be shallow). In some ways when you really study him he's quite the man of contradictions (or as Ducky himself said 'a man of more questions than answers). He's tough, but he cares deeply; he'll tell someone to 'get over it', but he doesn't; he's at times dismissive of people (especially the field team) but he's there for any of them, even showing his hurt if they don't turn to him. He is the person you want as your friend, not your enemy. He'd kill for you, he'd die for you, he'd lie for you, he'd support you - but you darn well have to earn his trust and woe-betide you if you betray it.
After Gibbs and Ducky, Jimmy (along with Tim and Fornell) is my favourite character. One of the many things I love about him is how his character has grown over the years, how he has developed. How he's gone from being so in awe and afraid of Gibbs he could barely string two words together to actually standing up to him and speaking out - even if it does earn him a double 'glare' from Gibbs and Ducky. He's going to make a great ME one day and take over from Ducky and no doubt start to retell Ducky's stories.
Ex-Detective Chief Superintendent Halford from New Tricks, the most senior member of the team, the most respected and the one who actually holds the team together. He may not actually be in charge of the team, but I believe even Sandra sees him (certainly at times) as more the leader than she is - well she did work under him when he was an actual detective. He lost his wife to a hit and run driver and in many ways never recovered - but the formation of the Unsolved Crime and Open Case Squad (UCOS) actually saved him (and Gerry and Brian too). Jack is my favourite member of the team - but I love them all.
Colonel Jack O'Neill leader of the Stargate SG-1 team. Jack's my favourite character. He's a great team leader, but doesn't suffer fools gladly, not a huge techie, smart (but not necessarily book smart), loyal, dedicated, caring, protective of his team; a darn good man. (I think he and Gibbs have a lot in common).
The doctor from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Julian fascinates me and is my favourite character from the series. He's highly intelligent, compassionate and a good man.
